CALABRATORS AND STANDARDS

Calibrators for low ranges of differential pressure

Pressure Supply Unit

The FCO501 Pressure Supply Unit is a self contained pressure source. It is designed to supply very stable differential and gauge pressures for calibration, typically with the Furness Controls PPC500 Pressure Calibrator.

The FCO501 has an internal air pump to supply a constant flow to two manual control valves. the Coarse Adjustment valve sets the full scale pressure, which may be as low as a few Pascals up to a maximum of 20kPascals. The Fine Adjustment valve is then used to set the required calibration steps. the ON/OFF valve allows the output to be zeroed without disturbing the setting.

When the unit is used in differential mode a special system, developed by Furness Controls, greatly reduces pressure instability caused by external pressure variations due to either unstable atmospheric conditions or to local effects such as doors being opened and closed.

calibration of pressure instruments

The PPC500 provides an outstanding solution for calibration of pressure instruments. It is independent of external pressure sources, incorporating a static dual piston pump, which is matched to the FSD of the particular model.
Since the PPC500 provides the calibration pressure, readout of the pressure and readout of the signal from the test instrument, it can be used for calibrating transducers, transmitters, or micromanometers within its pressure range.
An optional built in data logger allows storage of instrument calibration results within its memory. Results in memory can then be downloaded to a PC or printed.
The display shows the pressure generated by the PPC500. Simultaneously it displays the reading from the instrument under test. This second display can be the actual voltage or current being produced by the instrument, or it can display the pressure reading in whatever units the instrument under test uses. A third display shows the actual percentage error between the calibrator pressure and the instrument under test pressure. All this is shown on a large, easy to read Liquid Crystal Display.
